The Chinese display manufacturer, in partnership with General Interface, will provide OLED displays for the 5.4-inch iPhone.
The Chinese display manufacturer, BOE , has partnered with the touch panel manufacturer, General Interface Solutions , as both companies aim to become suppliers of the 5.4-inch iPhone which will be released in the future.
Apple plans to release four iPhone 12 models with OLED displays in the fall, including a 5.4-inch model, two 6.1-inch models and a 6.7-inch model, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo . All devices are expected to support 5G and may feature a new design with a metal frame with flat edges such as the iPad Pro or iPhone 4.
According to the report, therefore, the OLED displays and all related components will probably be provided by Boe and General Interface Solution.
While it is expected that higher end iPhone 12 models will be equipped with a triple lens rear camera system with a flight time sensor for 3D detection, mid-range models such as the iPhone 5.4 inches, will feature an iPhone 11-style dual-lens camera without ToF technology.
