Apple has released new firmware for its AirPods and AirPods Pro although it is not clear exactly what changes have been made to the software.

Apple has released a new firmware update for AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro , although there is no news on what’s new in the updated firmware.

‌AirPods Pro‌ previously used firmware version 2B588 , while ‌AirPods‌ 2 previously used 2A364 . Both irAirPods Pro‌ and ‌AirPods‌ 2 run the 2C54 firmware version after the update.

There is no clear way to update the firmware of AirPods‌ and AirPods Pro firmware, with the new software being installed via OTA while “AirPods” are connected to an iOS device.

Here’s how to check the AirPods’ firmware:

  • Let’s make sure that AirPods are connected to our iOS device.
  • Open the Settings app.
  • We select General.
  • Click on Information.
  • AirPods.
  • Check the number next to ” Firmware version “.

AirPods firmware upgrades often bring performance improvements , bug fixes and feature changes , but we may not find out what’s new as Apple does not provide any release notes for wireless headphone updates.
