Two new professional chips, revolutionary performance

M1 Pro and M1 Max revolutionize the MacBook Pro experience and mark a major step forward in the process of transitioning to the Apple chip on the Mac. MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max applies system on a chip (SoC) architecture for the first time to professional systems, offering fast unified memory and higher memory bandwidth that deliver unprecedented performance with best-in-class performance value per watt and industry-leading energy efficiency.

The M1 Pro chip takes the revolutionary M1 chip architecture to a new level. With a powerful CPU up to 10-cores, equipped with eight high-performance cores and two high-efficiency cores, as well as an up to 16-core GPU, the M1 Pro chip achieves CPU performance up to 70% higher than the chip M1 and GPU performance up to twice as fast. The M1 Pro also offers over 200GB / s memory bandwidth – nearly three times the M1 processor – and supports up to 32GB of fast unified memory. Designed to significantly speed up professional video workflows, the M1 Pro chip integrates a ProRes accelerator into the media engine for blazingly fast and energy-efficient video processing.

M1 Max, the world’s most powerful chip for a professional notebook, starts with the M1 Pro processor and pushes its incredible capabilities even further. M1 Max has the same powerful 10-core CPU as the M1 Pro chip, while for the GPU it reaches a maximum of 32 cores to ensure performance up to four times faster than the M1 processor. It also has a memory bandwidth of up to 400GB / s, twice that of the M1 Pro chip and nearly six times that of the M1 processor, and up to 64GB of fast unified memory. In an industry where even the latest notebook PCs max out 16GB of video memory, this massive amount of available memory is a revolutionary innovation for professional workloads that will allow you to do things previously unimaginable on a notebook.
