The new iPad with an all-screen design features a large 10.9 ″ Liquid Retina display. Thanks to the power of the A14 Bionic chip, the new iPad delivers even faster performance with incredible energy efficiency for the most demanding tasks, guaranteeing a full day of battery life.
The updated camera system includes a 12MP ultra-wide-angle front camera positioned on the longer side of the iPad for an even better video calling experience, and a 12MP rear camera for sharper, more vivid 4K photos and videos.
The USB-C port allows you to connect a wide range of accessories. Wi-Fi 6 guarantees even faster connections; models with cellular connectivity support ultra-fast 5G networks to ensure users stay connected while on the move.
Designed specifically for the latest iPad, the new Magic Keyboard Folio is super comfortable for typing, has a full-surface clickable trackpad, and has a versatile two-part design. With iPad’s 16 and the support for Apple Pencil (1st generation), the iPad offers even more ways to be creative and to work. The new iPad can be ordered starting today, with availability in stores starting Wednesday 26 October.
“We are very excited to introduce the completely redesigned iPad to our most advanced iPad line ever,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “With a large 10.9 ″ Liquid Retina display, the powerful A14 Bionic chip, the first front-facing camera on the horizontal side, fast wireless connectivity, USB-C and support for incredible accessories like the new Magic Keyboard Folio, the new iPad offers even more benefits, more versatility and it’s just more fun. “
New all-screen design in four vibrant finishes
The new iPad has an all-screen design and comes in four gorgeous colours: blue, pink, yellow and silver. The spectacular 10.9 ″ Liquid Retina display extends to the edges of the device: the user, therefore, has a larger screen area to use apps, play and have fun, all while maintaining almost the same size as the generation previous one.
The A14 Bionic chip gives the new iPad amazing performance
Thanks to the powerful A14 Bionic chip, the CPU is 20% more performing and has 10% better graphics than the previous generation. This makes the new iPad up to 5 times faster than the best-selling Android tablet: 3 Those upgrading to this model from a previous device, for example, iPad (7th generation), will notice that the overall performance is three times higher.
Advanced machine learning features are made possible by a 16-core Neural Engine in the A14 Bionic chip, with twice as many cores as the A13 chip, increasing machine learning performance by up to 80%. The A14 Bionic chip offers a remarkable level of performance and energy efficiency, ideal for everyday tasks such as working on school projects, high-resolution video editing, or games that require high graphics power.
Advanced cameras and audio
The front camera is now on the horizontal side, a first for the iPad, so the user will always look at the lens during a FaceTime call or when recording a video to post on social media. The 12MP horizontal front camera sensor with an ultra-wide angle and 122 ° angle of view supports the Auto Framing function, which automatically follows the movements of the subject to keep it in the center of the frame. The new 12MP wide-angle rear camera delivers high-resolution photos and detailed 4K video, and also supports 240fps slow-motion movies.
The two microphones are designed to work in perfect harmony with the cameras, capturing audio from the one in use to minimize background noise. New horizontal stereo speakers and larger displays provide a spectacular viewing experience.
Wi-Fi 6, 5G and USB-C for faster connections
IPad owners can do even more with faster wireless connectivity. Thanks to Wi-Fi 6, connections on the new iPad are 30% faster than the previous generation which supported the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard. In models with cellular connectivity, 5G allows you to reach peak speeds of up to 3.5 Gbps in optimal conditions, 4 to access files, communicate and stream content anywhere. Plus, with support for Gigabit LTE, physical SIM cards and eSIMs with on-device activation, the iPad offers maximum flexibility when it comes to connections. The USB-C port allows you to connect a wide range of accessories and faster charging when used in conjunction with power supplies with a higher power.
