After many years of use of the MagSafe connector for its laptops, Apple decided to remove it in the final version of the MacBook Pro and MacBook. According to the new patent pending, the Cupertino company would be interested to repeat this safe magnetic connector, thanks to a special adapter for the USB-C port.

For the uninitiated, the MagSafe connector is able to connect magnetically to the power of the MacBook for charging. This way, if by chance we were to trip over the power cord, the connector will automatically detach itself, avoiding a nasty fall to our laptop. Unfortunately in the latest versions of the MacBook Pro and the new models of MacBook, this connector has been removed, giving way to a more modern and universal USB-C ports. Many users are disappointed by this decision, perhaps because the MagSafe managed to “save the life” to their laptops on several occasions.

One of the latest patent filed by Apple has discovered a great interest in the MagSafe connector, even after the decisions taken with the latest laptops. The Cupertino company is indeed planning to bring back to market a new adapter in order to use the USB-C cable with a MagSafe connector.

The possible new Apple adapter will certainly not be the first MagSafe cable for USB-C. Many third-party manufacturers have already “stole” the Cupertino company idea, creating their own versions of the MagSafe USB-C cables. One of these is the Griffin USB-C cable with MagSafe connector, which you can find on Amazon from this address.
