Apple today announced the third generation of AirPods, with spatial audio, advanced features, a magical listening experience and a new streamlined design.
Thanks to the power of the H1 chip coupled with an Apple-designed sound system, the new AirPods 3 use computational audio to deliver incredible sound with adaptive equalization. Every user can enjoy spatial audio with Dolby Atmos on Apple Music, in movies and TV series, and benefit from dynamic head position detection, on all Apple devices.
In addition to being resistant to sweat and water, the new AirPods 3 have a pressure sensor to manage calls and music playback in a simple and intuitive way. They have greater autonomy and offer up to six hours of listening and up to 30 hours of total listening with the convenient charging case. AirPods 3 – Totally new design
The new design of the AirPods is light and tapered, with the perfect angle for comfort and to direct sound into the ear canal. Apple and the environment
AirPods are designed with materials and features that reduce their environmental impact, such as magnets that use 100% recycled rare earth. The case uses 100% recycled tin for the logic board soldering, and 100% recycled aluminium in the hinges. The AirPods are also completely free of potentially dangerous substances such as mercury, BFR, PVC and beryllium. AirPods meet federal energy-saving standards for chargers set by the US Department of Energy.
Apple’s Zero Waste program helps suppliers eliminate landfill waste, and all final assembly plants are switching to 100% renewable energy for Apple manufacturing. 100% of the virgin wood fibres used in packaging come from sustainably managed forests.
