During the third quarter of 2020, iPad shipments which recorded a growth of 47%.
According to Canalys, Apple sold 15.2 million iPads in the September quarter, compared with 10.4 million units sold during the same period last year. Thanks to this growth, the company has gained a share of 34.4% of the global market.
Samsung also experienced great growth in the third quarter, with approximately 9 million tablets shipped. The South Korean multinational achieved a market share of 20.4% , with an increase of 79.8% on an annual basis. In third place we find Huawei, with 5.1 million tablets shipped and a market share of 11.5%.
Amazon and Lenovo finished in fourth and fifth place respectively, with 5 million and 4.2 million units shipped. Amazon captured 11.3% market share, while Lenovo achieved 9.1%.
Apple’s continued leadership comes amid a global pandemic that has forced many to work or study remotely. In September, the company launched a new iPad Air model and a 10.2-inch entry-level model.
When it reported earnings for its fiscal fourth quarter of 2020, Apple said iPad revenue exceeded internal expectations by recording 6.8 billion in revenue , up from $ 4.66 billion last year.
