Despite the significantly lower download count, the App Store once again earns more than its main competitor Google Play.

A new report published by Sensor Tower shows how App Store, the Apple store dedicated to applications, generates an annual turnover of about 50% more consistent than that of the Android counterpart

Google Play, in the first half of this year, recorded a gross profit of about $ 11.8 billion for apps and additional content against the € 22.6 billion spent by iOS users who have helped to maintain the fixed ratio compared to the same period relating to 2017.

Revenues for both companies have increased by about 30% in the last year, seeing Google Play, not too much surprised, penalized given the numerous alternative stores available on Android (Amazon App Store, Samsung Store, Aptoide etc …) and also its absence in China, unlike the App Store.

The most popular category on the App Store remains, of course, that of the games while the highest paid additional content we find them in streaming video and music services, including HBO, Spotify, Netflix and the like or meeting platforms like Tinder.
