A new rumor says that iOS 14 will support the same iPhone and iPad models capable of running iOS 13.

There are just a few days to go before WWDC 2020 , an event in which Apple will officially present iOS 14 , and the Verifier website has reported that its sources indicate that all devices running iOS 13 will support iOS 14 .

Assuming the report is accurate, this means that Apple won’t leave out any devices for this year’s big iOS update. This universal device compatibility was also reported by iPhonesoft earlier this year.

This would mean that Apple will continue to support iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus for another year, which were first released in 2015. However, The Verifier says iOS 14 will be the latest update available for both the 6s series and the original iPhone SE, which share the same A9 chip.

This would include the following:

  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPod touch (seventh generation)
  • iPad Pro 12.9 ″
  • iPad Pro 11 ″
  • iPad Pro 10.5 ″
  • iPad Pro 9.7 “
  • iPad (7th generation)
  • iPad (6th generation)
  • iPad (5th generation)
  • iPad mini (5th generation)
  • iPad mini 4
  • iPad Air (3rd generation)
  • iPad Air 2

Apple will announce iOS 14 as part of its WWDC announcements. WWDC starts on June 22 this year and will be an online-only event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We also expect Apple to unveil new operating systems for macOS ( macOS 10.16 ), Apple TV ( tvOS 14 ) and Apple Watch ( watchOS 7 ) at WWDC. Apple is also likely to release a major software update for HomePod , to support features like Spotify’s native streaming, with rumors indicating the launch of a new ” HomePod mini ” in the fall.
