Checkra1n, the newest jailbreak tool for iPhone, has some great advantages over its predecessors. It was the first to successfully unlock iOS 13, it works on all system updates, and it is the only one that allows us to jailbreak our iPhone using an Android device.

For now, the tool is still in beta, but it works perfectly. Checkra1n supports many iPhone and iPad models and can jailbreak iOS 12.3 and later. It is based on the Checkm8 exploit bootrom that was used in previous cracking tools and offers some improvements.

The downside of Checkra1n is that it is a tethered jailbreak. This means that every time we restart our iOS device, we have to run Checkra1n to jailbreak again. Now that the tool also works on Android, however, you can do this anywhere.

Jailbreaking with Checkra1n is a relatively simple process. Just download the tool to a compatible device, put our iPhone or iPad in DFU mode and allow Checkra1n to do its job. At the end of the operation, we will have access to Cydia on our device.

Checkra1n officially works on macOS, while support for Windows will come in the future. It is the first jailbreak tool that also works with Linux. This is important because it is what allows Checkra1n to be used on an Android device using some unofficial modifications.

Using Checkra1n on an Android device is a fairly long but not extremely complicated process. Full instructions on how to do this and configuration details are available on Reddit.

You need to have root access on the Android device you are using to perform the operation.

You can download the Checkra1n tool from its website.
