The DxOMark tests have shown that the iPhone 11 is a very capable device that offers improvements compared to the configuration of the dual camera of the iPhone XS Max and with some elements comparable with the Pro models.
DxOMark, which evaluates the image quality of smartphones, lenses and cameras, has finally published its review on the configuration of the rear camera of the iPhone 11 .
The tests rated the iPhone 11 109 points , an increase over the 106 points of the iPhone XS Max which also uses a dual camera system on the back of the device.
” The iPhone 11 is a very capable device for both photos and videos, ” writes DxOMark, before pointing out that with this score the iPhone 11 ranks outside the top ten, in 17th place behind Xiaomi Mi 9 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro. By contrast, the iPhone 11 Pro Max reached 117 points, allowing it to rank fifth along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.
The video scores between iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max are “very comparable ” in the review, while, as far as photos are concerned, the difference between the two devices in terms of imaging capacity is noted. The use of two lenses instead of three on the iPhone 11 is a ” significant factor “, as the extra lens ” gives better results for zoom and bokeh “.
Even so, the iPhone 11’s ultra wide-angle camera “is as good as that of the more expensive Pro model”, with comparable performance in key categories including exposure, color, detail and autofocus. Users can expect “accurate exposures with a fairly wide dynamic range, pleasant colors and sharp shots with good levels of detail in most lighting conditions”.
