Hackers continue unabated to find exploits to be able to jailbreak the latest iOS released by Apple. This is the case of Checkra1n which exploits a hardware flaw and allows the semi-tethered Jailbreak of all devices with A11 processor

The developer and hacker  Axi0mX announced in September a new exploit called ” checkm8 ” which offers the possibility to jailbreak almost all Apple A series CPUs up to the A11 Bionic chip.

Today the same developer has released Checkra1n, the first tool for public Jailbreak compatible with iOS 13 and iPadOS 13.

The “checkm8” method used by Checkra1n is considered “not accessible” because it is based on a hardware exploit. This means that Apple cannot simply patch it with a software update, which is why the tool is compatible with the latest publicly available iOS 13 update.

More specifically, the new tool is able to jailbreak on almost all Apple devices starting from the iPhone 5s up to the iPhone X with iOS 12.3 and later versions.

Checkra1n is not compatible with some older iPad models, including iPad Air 2, first generation iPad Pro and fifth generation iPad. iPhone 5s, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3 and iPad Air are supported, but some users may experience problems with these devices, as the tool is currently available in beta only for macOS.

The team is working on versions for Windows and Linux, which will be added in a later version.
