Jony Ive is back to lead the design team of Apple. Confirmation came after some rumors circulated following recent changes to the “Apple Leadership” page on the company’s official website.

An Apple spokesman has confirmed to Bloomberg that Jony Ive has returned to manage the team after the completion of Apple Park, the new headquarters of the California giant: “With the completion of Apple Park, Apple’s design industry leaders and respective teams are again led by Jony Ive, who remains strongly focused on design ».

Ive took a step back from the leadership of the Apple design team in 2015, when he took on the role of “Chief Design Officer”. In recent years, Ive has overseen the design work of Apple Park and the many Apple Stores around the world, which underwent radical changes under the leadership of Angela Ahrendts. With the headquarters completed and the stores renewed in design, Ive can now return to his previous position.
