In a patent granted to Apple yesterday shows how apple iPhone and other devices may get a feature that will unlock the device by simply showing your face to the phone camera. Though Apple employs Touch ID and pin code as a security for unlocking your device. Apple is not the first company to introduce such feature, Android users with 4.0 and above are already enjoying this mode of unlocking.

The patent was granted to Apple by US Patent office:

“In the embodiment of the invention, a mobile device is configured to automatically lock based on determining that a user’s face is no longer present in the image captured by the device’s built-in camera,” the patent reads.

Apple periodically gets new patent, but it does not mean that their upcoming iPhone 6s or iPhone 7 will have such security feature. Are you excited for this new authentication method?
