From a source with a good track record comes good news about the price of the basic iPhone 14 models.

According to a new rumor from Asia, the price of the base model of the iPhone 14 will be the same as that of the 6.1-inch iPhone 13, or $ 799 ($ 939 in Italy).

According to a post by the “yeux1122” account on the Korean blog Naver, Apple will not increase the price of its next entry-level device to boost sales and compensate for the drop in demand due to the slowdown in the global smartphone market.

The decision to impose a price freeze on the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 is assumed to have been made “by top executives,” despite the company having to cope with rising production costs and ongoing problems in the supply chain.

If Apple launched the iPhone 14 at the same base price as last year’s iPhone 13, it would be the second year in a row that the price of the base model of Apple’s entry-lever 6.1-inch iPhone remains the same. In 2020, Apple launched the basic iPhone 12 model priced at $799.

Apple’s next line of iPhones will include a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

In particular, the standard models are not expected to feature any significant design changes and rumors suggest that they are likely to continue to use the same A15 chip introduced in the iPhone 13 series.

The news, however, will come with the Pro models, which will be powered by the new A16 chip faster and more energy efficient. In addition to that, these iPhone models will come with a new camera sensor and a new pill-shaped notch design.

The Naver account from which today’s rumors come has been the source of some accurate information in the past, including some details about the iPad mini 6.
