Bad news for everyone who is waiting for the new Apple Watch Series 8 to update their smartwatch.

According to Mark Gurman, in fact, the next models of Apple Watch Series 8 will be powered by the new S8 chip, which will have the same specifications as the S7 chip. As we all know, the S7 chip is the same as the S6, a chip introduced in 2020 on the Apple Watch Series 6.

The bombshell from the Bloomberg reporter comes after numerous reports reported that Apple would introduce a significantly faster chip than the S7 on the Apple Watch Series 8.

The Series 8, therefore, will be as fast as the Apple Watch Series 7 and Series 6. To get a model with a completely new processor, we will have to wait until next year.

The Apple Watch SE, on the other hand, will not have a larger screen like that of the Series 7. However, there could be a news regarding the processor:

The SE will have the same screen size as the current model, but could get the same Series 8 S8 chip, a nice upgrade from the S5 processor that powers the current Apple Watch SE model.
