Some Apple products have been added to the Vintage and Obsolete device list. Let’s see what they are and what all this means
The iPhone 6 Plus, the 2012 iPads and the old Mac Mini are added to the list of Apple’s vintage and obsolete devices.
A product is considered vintage when Apple has stopped distributing it for sale for more than 5 and less than 7 years. Repairs to these products are subject to component availability.
A product is considered obsolete when Apple has stopped distributing it for sale for more than 7 years. Apple completely stops hardware support and repairs for all obsolete products and the fourth generation iPad (released in 2012) has been included in this list, the first model to integrate the Lightning port instead of the old dock connector. Same goes for the mid-2010 and Late 2012 Mac Mini .
As for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus , they were added to the list of Vintage products because they were kept on sale until 2017, when the iPhone SE was launched.
