On Monday, Apple will present iOS 14,  but thanks to a leaked version of the code, more details are already known about the new operating system.

In addition to new features for the Messages app , a new Fitness app  and important news for Safari , 9to5Mac now suggests that the update will also include changes to the Podcast app .

The podcast app in iOS 14‌ will include a ” For You ” tab , similar to what we find on Apple Music. This means that the Podcast app will learn our personal preferences to suggest new podcasts available on the platform, making it more personalized for each user. A new user profile should allow us to follow our friends to see what they are listening to.

Another new feature that should be included in the Podcast app with iOS 14 is the option for creators to offer bonus content to the public , similar to what we get when we buy a movie in the Apple TV app. These bonus content will be featured in the podcast feed itself, but separate from regular episodes.

Apple has stepped up its podcast efforts to compete better with Spotify . Recent rumors indicate that the company is working on original podcasts that will be exclusive to its app.
